Meet Mr. Nate Schmolze

I recently had the pleasure of meeting Nate Schmolze in our LIS 755 summer course.

Nate considers Madison, Wisconsin his home town. He has worked for the Madison Metropolitan School District for over 10 years. Most of that time was spent substitute teaching at Schenk Elementary.

Three years ago Nate was asked to fill in for an open LMC position at Schenk. He enjoyed the work and the role technology played in the position, so he applied to Graduate School to keep the temporary license current.

Nate has taken classes at SLIS on a part time basis over the past three years. LIS 755 was recommended as a class I needed to take. With that said database management and licensing is a topic that Nate has some interest in.

Nate is very concerned about issues of technology and privacy. An ongoing interest of his are ebooks and the various models for access.

This is a picture that Nate took with his Samsung 4 of his favorite xkcd cartoon.

And for a photo a little closer to home, this is the tree is Nate's back yard.
